Family grave of Balyans under renovation
Family grave of Balyans, the architects of the symbolic buildings of Istanbul, is being renovated. As part of the restoration, a monument for Balyan family will be built.

The biography of Dr. Avedis Cebeciyan is compiled from the book that his son, Robert Cebeciyan, wrote and published in Aleppo in 1999: “Autobiography, Memoirs and Activities of Robert Cebeciyan”. The Genocide Museum in Yerevan hosted an exhibition that is titled “Armenian Sport and Gymnastics in the Ottoman Empire”. The museum director Hayk Demoyan, who wrote a book bearing the same title with the exhibition, and 80-years-old grandson of Shavarsh Qrisian, who were issuing Marmnamarz magazine during Ottoman period and exiled to Ayash in 1915, attended the opening of the exhibition. Alin Ozinian, by way of this exhibition, observes how the Armenians’ contribution to the sports culture of these lands was excluded from the official history and she makes room for a reckoning that is related to remembrance, oblivion and forgiveness.
Armenian community to open new school building in Istanbul
The Bakırköy district had housed one small school built over 170 years ago by Ottoman Armenian notable Hovhannes Dadyan. "Moving to a new building after 171 years makes us all happy,” Surp Asdvadzadzin Church Foundation head Mesut Özdemir said.
The ceremony at the Akhtamar is cancelled

32 trees planted at Kamp Armen in memory of Suruç victims
On 25 July Saturday, the victims of the Suruç massacre were commemorated at Kamp Armen, as the vigil to protect the camp enters its 3rd month. Kamp Armen Solidarity planted sycamore trees in memory of the 32 murdered members of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF).

Kamp Armen still not returned, 2nd rally on Friday evening at Tünel
52 days have now passed since the resistance began at Kamp Armen on May 6 after bulldozers entered the camp in Tuzla to demolish the facilities. Despite promises made by the government and municipality, the deed has still not been returned to the Armenian community.
